Hubway bicycles are checked in the field 1-2 times a month to ensure they are safe and are operating in top condition.
If a bike is broken, there is a wrench button on every dock that can be pressed to turn on a red light and lock the bike in so no one else can use it until our technicians are able to fix it.
The cleaning schedule for stations and kiosks follows the cleaning schedule for the adjacent street, which is determined by each municipality. Stations are also visited frequently by station techs for routine maintenance.
